IWATCH
This iWatch concept is practically perfect
Wearable technology has been on the
increase over the past 5 years or so. As components get smaller, it’s
possible to fit what used to take up an entire cupboard in your study in
to a 5mm thin watch. The most notable products have been the Sony
Ericsson connected wrist watches, and more recently, the Nike FuelBand.
LG had a quick flurry with its wearable phones, and Sony has just
released an Android-running timepiece. That said, none of them have ever
taken off, or come close to matching the popularity of CASIO’s iconic
calculator watch. If anyone could do it, it would be Apple.
Swedish designer, Anders Kjellberg has
released a new concept he calls the Apple iWatch. It features an 8MP
camera with HD video capturing and FaceTime compatibility. The slew of
specs include a Retina display, WiFi, Bluetooth, AirPlay, iTunes and App
Store, accelerometer, a Micro SIM slot, 16GB storage capacity and it
all supposedly fits inside this tiny wrist watch. It’s beautifully slim,
and comes with a choice of wrist band colors. (Gallery below.)
While I’m not convinced that Apple is
remotely interested in entering the wearable tech market, I’d absolutely
love it if they did. This iWatch looks fantastic, and would take away
my need for carrying a phone with me every where.
What do you think? Should Apple make smart watches?
